Casio G-Shock Nano Ring Watch Nano DWN-5600 series is a collection of fully functional ring-sized watches that arrived this month just in time for Christmas gifts. This timepiece shrinks the iconic G-Shock design to one tenth of its original size while maintaining the same features and durability that made the brand legendary.

Why is the G-Shock Nano special?

Well, because it’s a ring measuring only 23.4 mm x 20mm x 7.5mm and this miniature marvel has G-Shock technology into a wearable ring format. It weighs only 6 grams which makes it comfortable to wear all day on your finger.

It has 200 meters water resistance, shock resistant construction and it is made from bio-based recycled resin.

Despite small dimensions, it has a 2 year battery life which you can change, full digital display with time keeping functions. The adjustable band fits finger size from 48 mm to 82mm.

I love how they keep trying to innovate in the watch industry and it’s a testimony to their crazy and innovative watches from the 80’s and 90’s.

Available Colors and Pricing

The G-Shock Nano launches in three distinctive colorways:

  • Black (DWN-5600-1JR) – Classic and versatile
  • Red (DWN-5600-4JR) – Bold statement piece
  • Yellow (DWN-5600-9JR) – Vibrant and eye-catching

G-Shock Nano Ring Watch is priced at 95 dollars (14,300 yen in Japan) and it is a truly must-have for Casio enthusiasts. The watches are shipped in premium collector-style packaging with a dedicated silicone display stand.

Design inspiration

G-Shock Nano Ring Watch takes the design of the already legendary DW-5600 model, which carries the DNA of the very first G-Shock watch. This make the G-Shock Nano Ring Watch more than a gimmick, it’s a tribute to decades of innovations in shock resistant timekeeping.

To reach these small dimensions, Casio used high-density component mounting and a compact battery technology.

G-Shock Nano Ring Watch is not the first one in the collection of ring watches.

Previous Casio ring watches were a success. In December 2024, the company launched CRW-001, its first ring watch that celebrated Casio’s 5oth anniversary. Everybody wanted this watch ring so Casio struggled to meet the demand.

So, normally they launch G-Shock Nano Ring Watch which represent the natural evolution of this product line.

The G-Shock Nano Ring Watch was launched in November in Japan and now it is available all over the world. Given the high demand, Casio is limiting the sales to one per customer.

Would I buy it? Probably, just to have it as a watch enthusiast. I don’t think I would wear it that much.

Either way, it is a cool thing to have in my book, especially if you are a watch aficionado.

TAGGED:
My passion for watches began around the age of 6 when I first saw a watch that seemed magical to me. It had 7 melodies, an alarm, a stopwatch, and would beep every hour. Truly advanced technology for me at the time! It belonged to my brother, but before long, he gave it to me. One of the melodies was “Oh! Susanna” by Stephen Foster, but unfortunately, I no longer remember the other six. If I had to guess, I’d say it was a Casio, as they popularized melody watches. However, the truth is I don’t remember exactly. It certainly wasn’t a Casio—most likely a cheap Chinese knockoff—but it was fascinating for a kid like me. That watch is no longer part of my life—just like many other watches that have been lost over time, without me even realizing when or how. As I write these lines, a photo from my first grade comes to mind. In it, I’m wearing a watch that’s clearly visible. Still, I don’t think it’s the melody watch I remember. On the watch in the photo, I had stuck two flags cut out from an atlas. Besides my passion for watches, I also had a fascination with maps. What can I say? Childhood quirks and passions of a kid who grew up without the internet—because it didn’t exist! Otherwise, I’ve always been told I have a talent for writing, probably because I’m not good at math at all.
