DOXA SUB 300 Beta Ceramic is the new iteration launched by Doxa, limited to just 11 pieces, it made its debut at Dubai Watch Week.

I’m going to be honest, not really a fan of Doxa SUB models, but I appreciate them and like their history, especially in the dive watches category. This model tough  it’s beautiful, and I see it that way maybe because I have a soft spot for red dials.

Anyway, the watch was launched to celebrate the Dubai Watch Week 2025, and the name reflects that Doxa SUB 300 Beta Ceramic Dubai Watch Week 2025 and it marks a collaboration between Doxa and UAE luxury retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.

A brand New color for a classic Dive Watch

Doxa SUB 300 Beta Ceramic takes the heritage dive watch design and “dress” him in contemporary materials. THe color scheme is beautiful to me due to his contrast between deep cherry red access and a completely matte black ceramic case.

This is not the first collaboration between Doxa and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, previously they launched SUB 300 Beta Seddiqi Limited Edition wich features a mother-of-pearl dial.

Case Design and Technical Specifications

Doxa SUB 300 Beta Ceramic comes with 42.5 mm in diameter , 44.5 mm lug-to-lug and a thickness of 11.95 mm. THe material used for case, bezel and crown is black ceramic and has a Titanium container. Water resistance is obviously 300 meters and the caseback is screw-in. I like that they respect the marine history, not like Ulysse Nardin Marine Torpilleur which comes only with 50 meters water resistance.

Doxa had reduced the bezel thickness by 0.5mm and optimized the overall profile which makes this model, if I’m not mistaken, one of the slimmest SUB watches from the collection.

The Cherry Red Dial

The cherry red dial has rich and metallic tones that shift beautifully in changing light conditions. For better visibility under water, Doxa added white Super-LumiNova to the black hands and applied indexes.

A cherry red minute track runs around the dial while matching the cherry red printing adorns the ceramic bezel. The rotating bezel is unidirectional and it maintains DOXA’s signature dual scale system: depth measurements in feet on outer ring and dive time in minutes on the inner ring. At the 12 o’clock position we have a luminous dot.

Movement and Performance

Inside the ceramic case we have the Selitta SW200-1 automatic movement which is COSC certified. It has 28,800 vph  and a  power reserve of only 38 hours. It comes with hacking seconds functions and from what I know this movement is very easy to service.

Strap Options

Doxa SUB 300 Beta Ceramic Dubai Watch Week 2025 comes with two strap options.

Primary Strap is made from black FKM rubber with a black PVD coated deployant clasp wich features a wetsuit extension and the iconic fish logo.

Secondary Strap is actually a NATO in gray color and it’s perfect for casual wearing.

Pricing and Availability

Doxa SUB 300 Beta Ceramic Dubai Watch Week 2025  is very limited,  they made only 11 watches and it’s exclusively sold through Ahmed Seddiqi boutiques in UAE

Price:

  • CHF 4,200 (Swiss Francs)
  • AED 18,750 (UAE Dirhams)

More information you can see on DOXA’s website or at Seddiqi.

As I said, I’m not really a DOXA SUB fan, but this model has something that caught my eye, and for sure it’s the red cherry dial.

Would I buy it? I don’t think so, it’s too expensive. But it might worth, given the fact that there are only 11 watches produced. Still, not really for me. At this price point you can get a Nomos Neomatik Worldtimer which is the best watch for 2025 by far. At least for me

TAGGED:
My passion for watches began around the age of 6 when I first saw a watch that seemed magical to me. It had 7 melodies, an alarm, a stopwatch, and would beep every hour. Truly advanced technology for me at the time! It belonged to my brother, but before long, he gave it to me. One of the melodies was “Oh! Susanna” by Stephen Foster, but unfortunately, I no longer remember the other six. If I had to guess, I’d say it was a Casio, as they popularized melody watches. However, the truth is I don’t remember exactly. It certainly wasn’t a Casio—most likely a cheap Chinese knockoff—but it was fascinating for a kid like me. That watch is no longer part of my life—just like many other watches that have been lost over time, without me even realizing when or how. As I write these lines, a photo from my first grade comes to mind. In it, I’m wearing a watch that’s clearly visible. Still, I don’t think it’s the melody watch I remember. On the watch in the photo, I had stuck two flags cut out from an atlas. Besides my passion for watches, I also had a fascination with maps. What can I say? Childhood quirks and passions of a kid who grew up without the internet—because it didn’t exist! Otherwise, I’ve always been told I have a talent for writing, probably because I’m not good at math at all.
