Mido Multifort 8 One Crown just hit the headlines with the latest Mido release. This model follows the “Two Crowns” predecessor which gained a cult following due to its vintage diver aesthetics. One Crown on the other hand, has a more contemporary design that feels natural.
Mido has done great things in 2025 with the Launch of Mido Multifort TV Big Date in Titanium and the limited edition model S01EP2 from the same watch line. The price is good in my opinion 840 CHF/890 EUR/800 USD.
I personally like what Mido is doing in recent years, and I hope that they will come with more models at accessible prices.
Mido Multifort 8 One Crown Design
Multifort 8 One Crown with reference number M055.507.11.041.00 has a beautiful architecture that reminds me a lot of the more expensive model from Girrard Peregaux called Laureato.
Mido distance themselves with this model from the classic traditional round bezel, choosing instead a faceted octagonal bezel. This choice is not just for aesthetics, my guess is that they are targeting the Tissot PRX line which has similar design. Other brands have similar design models like CItizen with their Tsuyosa or Seiko with their VANAC model that is more expensive than One Crown.
Mido Multifort 8 One Crown has satin-finished and polished surfaces that gives the watch a high-end integrated look and it makes him look more expensive than he is.
The case has a 40mm diameter and a thickness of only 9.9mm. I love the thickness of this model, and I believe in these dimensions is a watch for 90% of the wrists out there.
Mido Multifort 8 One Crown Dial – Intense Blue
This is what I actually really like. Sure the design is not unique, we can see it in a lot of other watches, but the colour (which is not unique as well), turquoise with the signature horizontal grooves makes the dial design to really stand out.
The lines from the dial draw inspiration from the Sydney Harbour Bridge which also inspired the original design for the Multifort line in 1934.
The tri-faceted hands and applied indices are coated in White Super-Luminova for great visibility in dark environments
I think Mido Multifort 8 One Crown is the first affordable integrated bracelet model that I really like and doesn’t look like an imitation to me. Sure, I appreciate the PRX line, I owned one, but for some reason the PRX didn’t get much wrist time, so I ended up selling it.
I’m still considering one, maybe the one in Damascus steel, but with the design and launch of the Multifort 8 Crown I might reconsider my options.
Caliber 80 powers the watch
No surprise in this department, we have Caliber 80 which is based on ETA C07.611, a great movement for entry level luxury watches, we also wrote a Luxury watch Buying Guide that can help you make an informed decision before purchasing a watch. We know the movement it’s reliable and already showed its value. The power reserve is 80 hours and we already know that this calibre has Nivachron Balance spring.
Basically almost all watches from the swatch group that are on entry level luxury come with this movement and specifications. Which is not bad.
Mido Multifort 8 One Crown has a screw-down crown that helps reach the rating of a 100 meters water resistance. It’s safe to take it to the beach but I might add that it is perfect as well for a more pretentious evening gala.
The integrated stainless steel bracelet has a quick-release system, which is always appreciated in my books, allowing you to swap it for a rubber strap in seconds without using any tool.

My Mido Multifort 8 One Crown Verdict
I like to ask the Hit or Miss question to my readers. I will say it first this time. I think it’s a hit, the price of 840 CHF/890 EUR/1058 USD (conversion at 22.1.2025) makes it a good option, an affordable one, if you desire a watch with integrated bracelet and really cool design.
It directly competes with the Tissot PRX line, and if we compare the both I think Mido will win this time. Of course, except for the Damascus steel model, which is the best in my opinion in terms of design, but too small in dimensions.
Mido Multifort 8 One Crown is affordable, has a great design, a movement that is reliable and it is a brand with history. It checks all the marks in my books. Well done Mido, can’t wait to see what else you got for us this year.
